Light rail molding is a decorative and functional piece of trim that is typically installed on the underside of upper kitchen cabinets. The molding helps to conceal under-cabinet lighting fixtures and can also provide a finished look to the cabinets. In addition to its aesthetic value, light rail molding can also be used to protect the cabinets from accidental damage caused by foot traffic or cleaning tools. Light rail molding is typically made of wood or a wood composite material and is available in a variety of styles to match the design of the kitchen.
When choosing light rail molding for your kitchen cabinets, it is important to consider the overall design and style of your kitchen. There are a variety of styles available, from simple and understated to ornate and detailed. Additionally, light rail molding can be painted or stained to match the finish of your cabinets.
Some manufacturers also offer pre-finished light rail molding that can be easily installed without the need for additional finishing.
Installing light rail molding is a relatively simple process that can be done by homeowners with basic carpentry skills. The molding is typically attached to the underside of the cabinets using screws or nails. It is important to ensure that the molding is level and securely fastened to the cabinets to prevent it from becoming dislodged or damaged over time. In addition to providing a decorative and functional element to your kitchen cabinets, light rail molding can also add value to your home and make your kitchen a more inviting and attractive space.
